Cold sore help?

ok, so I get nasty cold sores from time to time. Got a sunburn on my lips last weekend %26amp; now I'm paying for it. Have a Monster one on top that's going for biggest %26amp; most painful I've ever had %26amp; a slighly smaller one smack in middle of lower lip. My prescription pills only work at the first tingle if I take before the sore erupts %26amp; I missed my 2 minute time frame. I look like an ogre. Anybody have any useful tips/tricks that I haven't already tried??? P.S. I've tried every over the counter topical in my lifetime %26amp; they don't work.
Cold sore help?
Prevention mouth wash is the best product I've used for cold sores. It heals the area and keeps infection from spreading or getting worse. Gets rid of cold sores fairly quickly, a lot faster than most medicated creams. It's inexpensive too. You can get it at most major stores, Walmart, etc..

CARMEX works great and is cheap.
Reply:pop em n put salt n limon on it....n by the way thats nasty
Reply:try some chapstick... :/

blistex works real good. get the medicated green package one or the dark blue package one.
Reply:I hear blistex is pretty good... carmex always works for me... ugh, that really sucks though. Good luck with treating them!

鈾?br>Reply:Well, what I always do with any pustule is heat up a needle and pop the sucker. Getting all the pus out helps a lot.
Reply:sadly there is very little you can do. Keep aplying ointment to keep is from drying out.
Reply:Better see your Dr.-
Reply:Get Abreva. Apply as directed. This stuff really DOES WORK. It's expensive ... over $14 for a 'teeny, tiny' tube, but that tube will become your 'best friend' if you get cold sores.
Reply:abreva works great but ull have to pay almost $20 bucks for it, id use carmex, only .97 cents at walmart
Reply:When you go out in the sun make shure you wear chap stick

with sunblock in it. you can find it at wal mart. Now for cold sores in genral use blistex it works!
Reply:I have learned just through trial and error that if I drink too much juice (vitamin c??) that they dont heal as fast. Also I like Abrevia! My mama used to put a dab of rubbing alcohol on my lip.. Im not really sure how safe that is, but I still do it... and it seems to dry it up. My friend says a steeped and hot tea bag is relieving and softens it up so it heals less painful.
Reply:It burns like fire but i use alcohol rubbing kind and it dries it up faster plus kills germs
Reply:Not only can cold sores cause pain and discomfort for several days, they鈥檙e so noticeable, they can be embarrassing too. Although living with cold sores can be a hassle, treating them doesn鈥檛 have to be. Remember, they are caused by a virus and are considered a medical condition鈥攜our healthcare provider can help. Call them they will help and give you tips.
Reply:Doesn't Abreva 鈩?help?
Reply:Hi ogre, opps i mean catwoman ha ha ha. Only joking! Get a cold, used tea bag and press it against the sores, keeping it there for hours if you can ( you're in then eh ha ha ha ) and change the bag around when it becomes warm! Also try lavender oil! It really works! Gently rub a little bit of the oil into the sores and if it dries out, put some more on, its great stuff. Hope you return from ogre land very soon! Good luck.
