Aloe vera?

Does it help reduce the red of a sunburn? or does it just help the pain?
Aloe vera?
sunburn is like roasting a chicken.

its hot at first, then dries up if left to its own.

I know this sounds weird...but you need to put the (sunburn)fire out because it is CONTINUING to burn you.

I know what works because I am Norwegian/Swede and Irish.

pour vinegar over it a few times until it doesn%26#039;t feel so darn hot. then lather your self in aloe Vera. vinegar puts the heat out

aloe Vera keeps it from turning into leather.

I laughed when the one girl said she bursts into flame! poor thing!! I think you know how she feels...and so do I. Try it...really...it only stinks for awhile lol now also take some Ibuprofen lay on the couch, watch Gilligan%26#039;s Island and drink all your water.

love mom
Aloe vera?
Aloe Vera doesn%26#039;t reduce the redness, but it does help with pain. It has some sort of cooling action that makes a sunburn feel better.
Reply:Aloe Vera does both.

I am so fair skinned that if I spend too much time in the sun I will burst into flame.

Aloe Vera helps the sunburn go away and soothes the pain.

Reapply in often, let it dry before putting clothes on and wash your hands, because if you get it in your mouth it tastes pretty bad
Reply:aloe vera by itself in pure form wont but certain lotions with it in the ingredients will do both
Reply:Aloe vera (after being treated eg. as lotions or creams) definitely aids the pain as it contains salicylic acid (active ingredients in aspirin and muscle rubs ) which relieves pain. The redness is reduced when the inflammation is reduced by long chain sugars contained within the plant.
Reply:I think both...idk...but i can tell u this...when u have a sore throat take a big piece of an Aloe Vera plant cut it in half, so the gelly stuff is in the middle, and cut those 2 in two so u would have 4. After that place 2 gelly sides on one foot and the same w/ da other...then put paper towel on the non-sticky side and slip ur feet into socks...and go to bed...yea so it%26#039;s a nite time thing... ;)
