What is wrong with me? Do you do any of this?

I can not stop pulling my goatee hair out. One by one, i sit and pluck them out. I also pull hair from other parts of my body. I've read about a condition called trichotillomania, but it seems like most of those people pull out BIG patches of their hair on their head. I dont do anything like that. I think mine is more OCD related. It relaxes me or helps me think. I also enjoy picking scabs, peeling sunburnt skin, popping zits, etc...

I know its...like...all like...bleh...or whatever. Anyone else take pleasure in any of this sick sh!t?

it really does sound like trich....some people have mild trich and the hair loss isnt noticeable. mine used to be noticeable, i had very short hair....then i stopped for awhile and my hair looks good and longer again but i recently started and theres a smallll section thats like 2 inches shorterr, but it isnt noticeable unless i show u the difference. when i would do it, it helps me relax cause i also have anxiety.

i also still do my eyelashes and eyebrows

your other habits i think may also be considered trich, but if not its def ocd.

hope this helps!!

I pull out my eyelashes and eyebrows. One by one just like you do. I don't know if it is just a nervous tick or just some odd thing I do, but it is nice to know I am not the only one. I don't think it makes either of us crazy.
Reply:I also pull hair out, pick at scabs/cuts to make them bleed, and bite the skin around my nails and my lip until it bleeds.

Just habits.
Reply:Personally I don't take pleasure in any of the above mentioned activities, but it's not what I would term sick behavior in the least. If you are concerned what you should begin to do is to first pay attention to what is going on in your surroundings and with your moods when you begin any of those activities. When you can understand why you are doing these things you can work on not doing them at all. (I assume that since you called this behavior sick that it's something that you do indeed want to stop). It all comes down to redirecting yourself to do something more soothing and perhaps less self debilitating. If necessary discuss this with your doctor. He or she can help decide if medication might be helpful or perhaps even seeing a therapist. I wish you luck.
